Metropolitan Budgerigar Club

VISITORS WELCOME

Meetings are held at the

Bassendean Community Hall,

Old Perth Rd Bassendean.

The Committee will meet at 10am before the club meeting when held at Bassendean.

All MBC members are welcome to attend.

The MBC meets on a Saturday of most months when members gather to enjoy the company of other Budgerigar breeders. A Table Show is held each month so members can bring their birds along to compete against others. This way they gain experience in comparing the quality of their birds in relation to others. While judging is in progress, they are treated to a variety of entertainment in the form of lectures and group discussion etc.

Variety recognition, disease control, genetics and general husbandry are all matters under discussion.

When judging of the birds is done, the members adjourn to the show benches and discuss amongst themselves the merits of the winners while enjoying a welcome cuppa.

You can be assured of a friendly atmosphere and if you are a novice, help from more experienced members to put you on the right track with your breeding program and setting up your stud, in general.

HISTORY

The Metropolitan Budgerigar Club of W.A. (Inc) was formed in 2004, prior to this period the members of this club were members of Branches of the “Western Australian Budgerigar Council (Inc)”.

The “Western Australian Budgerigar Council (Inc)” was restructured in 2004.

Prior to this, the WABC was made up of Branches & Affiliated Clubs. Under the new structure, only Affiliated Clubs can be members of the “Western Australian Budgerigar Council (Inc)”.

“The Metropolitan Budgerigar Club of W.A. (Inc)” is an affiliate member of the “Western Australian Budgerigar Council (Inc)”.
